Make use of your magic, might, and mind as you engage in bloody warfare with vile demons and monsters. Confront witches that have cast a shadow of evil spells shrouding you in the never-ending darkness. I can't tell if the jumping will be a problem - there are definitely some areas in the game where you need to jump over stuff like spikes or lava, although you also get enough fire potions for the latter not to be much of a problem.Escend into a dark and gruesome nightmare! You alone must face the evil within the volcanic pit of the Island of Char, toward the mystical lair of Witchaven. I won't be playing GDX since I feel like Enhanced is more accurate to the original even if controls are much worse. For some reason you can only jump forward after moving a bit first. You have much less air time, much less range and there's this weird unresponsiveness if you press movement forward and jump quickly - you won't jump. Lastly, and it's immediately noticeable - jumping feels much worse in GDX. Maybe the cause is the changed FoV though. I feel like attack timings may be much different between versions as after playing the Enhanced version I was missing a lot of my attacks. With GDX version both groups will turn on you after attacking them and will ignore each other. The very first level features an infight between 2 groups of goblins and in the GoG's Enhanced version you can intervene and they will keep fighting each other. There's some inconsistency with how AI behaves IMO. ![]() The aiming feels much better in GDX, especially looking up/down. I just tried the first level of BuildGDX port after playing 2h+ of the Enhanced version and I feel like port has some problems.īetter range of options for both graphics and controls. ![]() I encourage people to play at least first level with both Enhanced and GDX to get a feel of the game and only then pick which to stick with.
